Chicago IL Real Estate
As you can imagine, I could create an entire website about Chicago, Cook County's largest city. So this will mainly be a resource page that I will be constantly adding to. The U.S. Census Bureau figures show Chicago as having 2,896,016 residents in 2000. Chicago Illinois real estate comprises of 1,162,868 total housing units.
Chicago Story
Memorable Chicago highlights include our elevated trains (the "L" trains), our history of Chicago's Great Fire of 1871, supposedly started by a cow, our fierce winds and our gangster history, including Al Capone and the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Chicago is also known for the many talents that started here including, but not limited to, Ray Romano, John Belushi, Dan Akroyd & many other Saturday Night alums (who got their start at Chicago's Second City improv club ) and the famous Cusak actors. Gary Sinise, Jenny McCarthy and Cindy Crawford lived in suburbs of Chicago. In fact, we really do have the Billy Goat Tavern that John Belushi satired with his "Cheeseborger! Cheeseborger! ..." routine.

Chicago Entertainment and Attractions
Many people associate Chicago with our downtown area referred to as The Loop. This is where many attractions can be found such as the Adler Planetarium , The Art Institute , the wonderful Shedd Aquarium , the Field Museum , Museum of Science and Industry , other museums, gardens and our newest addition, Millenium Park . We also have our 2 tallest buildings, John Hancock and Sears Tower . Navy Pier is a popular family attraction featuring outdoor activities, boat rides/cruises, dining, entertainment, The Children's Museum and The Shakespeare Theater and an Imax Theater. Chicago offers fine and casual dining throughout the city.
Chicago Sports
Chicago boasts two baseball teams, the White Sox on the south side and the Cubs on the north side, which creates much rivalry in Chicago and suburban residents! I can't leave out the other sports such as basketball's Chicago Bulls , football's Chicago Bears , hockey's Chicago Blackhawks, and our soccer team, Chicago Fire.
Lake Michigan and the Chicago River
What many out-of-towners forget about Chicago is that we have beaches! Lake Michigan, the largest of the Great Lakes, provides much water enjoyment.
Chicago has several yacht clubs, walking/bike paths and other activities associated with the lake. You can also take boat tours on the Chicago River (which is dyed green for St. Patrick's Day) to see the wonderful architecture of this great city. In fact, our history even includes the fact that the river's flow was actually reversed in 1900!
