The village of Oak Lawn, Illinois is currently revitalizing its downtown area and taking advantage of the Metra train stop to Chicago's Loop. Oak Lawn was incorporated in 1909 and went under two prior names; Black Oaks Grove and then Agnes, after the first postmaster's wife. Oak Lawn keeps revitalizing itself to keep attracting younger families and continue growth, even though most of Oak Lawn's land has been developed.
