Willow Springs, IL was incorporated in 1892 and today it is a village somewhat divided in two. The section most people think of from the southwest suburbs is the older area of Willow Springs on the east. But areas to the west think of the westernmost portion of Willow Springs that used to house the old Santa Fe Racetrack and was annexed into Willow Springs featuring new construction including condos, townhomes and single family homes in the subdivision known as Willow Ridge.

Al Capone sheds some gangster history to Willow Springs who supposedly owned some speakeasys on Archer Ave. and had a hideout on German Church Rd.
