The Quarry Theatres
Posted by Judy Orr on Monday, November 21st, 2005 at 3:28pm.Yesterday my youngest son, Matt and his girlfriend, Jamie, invited me to go see the newest Harry Potter movie. We have many movie theaters in our area but they insisted on going to the Quarry Cinemas at 9201 W. 63 St, Hodgkins, IL 60525. The phone number is 708-352-0767.
My husband asked them why they wanted to travel farther to The Quarry Cinemas as we have closer theaters. But I didn't have to ask since The Quarry theaters are newer and offer stadium seating. I didn't actually take a count of the actual number of theaters but on one source I saw the name listed as The Quarry Cinemas 14, so I'm assuming that's the number of available theaters. Harry Potter was running on a different theater almost every hour. There were also 12 other listings for the day so maybe there are more than 14 theaters. Next time we go I'll ask. This is also my favorite venue for movies. Other local southwest suburban movie theaters are:
-
Loews Chicago Ridge - 500 Chicago Ridge Mall, Chicago Ridge, IL 60514 - 888-262-4386
-
Loews Crestwood, 13221 Rivercrest Dr., Crestwood, IL 60445 - 888-262-4386
-
Marcus Orland Park Cinemas - 16350 S. Lagrange Rd., Orland Park IL 60462 - 708-873-1900
For what it's worth, my favorite Harry Potter movie is still the prior one, The Prisoner of Azkaban, the 3rd in the series.

You are absolutely correct. I wasn't going to post your comment because it was pretty vehement for the content of the post - a movie theater. In fact, I can't believe you found this old post to begin with.
However, let me explain. This was one of my very first blog posts on this website. I can guarantee that when I looked up the theaters on Google the address was listed as Countryside. If you read the post you will note that it was not in my proverbial back yard, so I had no idea that my online source was incorrect.
Thanks for the correction and I will make the change. I also have to thank you for bringing me back to one of my very first blog posts and how dated it sounds. Unfortunately, my son and his girlfriend are no longer together, and I loved her.
I am but one REALTOR that visited a movie theater and wrote about it. I am not ashamed of anything. If anyone else finds this post somehow, I wonder who they think should be ashamed. Have a nice day.

The City of Countryside HAS NO theaters. The QUARRY MALL AND LOWE'S CINEMA 14 IS SOLIDLY IN THE VILLAGE OF HODGKINS. HOW DO YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO TAKE YOUR "SCHTICK" ABOVE TO BE GOOD AND TRUTHFUL IF YOUR REPORTERS CAN'T EVEN GET BASIC INFORMATION CORRECT? IF FACT, THE QUARRY 14 MALL ADVERTISES ON A LARGE WATER TOWER ON THE EDGE OF ITS PROPERTY WHICH CLEARLY SAYS "HODGKINS" ON IT. SO HOW TRUSTWORTHY IS THE REST OF YOU STUFF ON THIS FANCY LAYOUT? DO YOU EVER CHECK ON THAT YOUR PEOPLE SAY AND PUBLISH IN YOUR NAME? I LIVE IN WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN, A 48,000 POPULATION COMMUNITY JUST OUTSIDE OF MILWAUKEE. MY FAMILY HAS LIVED HERE FOR OVER 26 YEARS. INTERESTING ON HOW WE CAN GET RIGHT WHAT YOUR "EXPERTS" IN THE AREA SCREW UP. I KNOW HODGKINS SPENT A LOT OF TAX MONEY FROM ITS TIF YOU HELP YOU BUILD THERE. COUNTRYSIDE DIDN'T SPEND A DIME... THEY DIDN'T HAVE A DIME. ARE YOU NOT ASHAMED OF DANCING WITH THE ONE WHAT BROUGHT YOU?
